Biomaterials Platform Technology

Bioresorbable Implants

Building on the initial proprietary biomaterials platform technology for hard tissue (bone) applications, MacroPore Biosurgery is focusing on the development of bioresorbable polymer implants for spinal fusion and spine graft fixation, as well as other applications for treating diseases, deformities or trauma of the musculoskeletal system.

MacroPore OS(tm) Spine System is used in conjunction with rigid fixation in specific spine applications.

MacroPore OS Spine" System is designed to provide containment and protection of bone grafts in spinal bone grafting procedures when used in conjunction with rigid fixation. This is the first product of its kind to achieve FDA clearance for this application. The spine and orthopedics bioresorbable products, manufactured by MacroPore Biosurgery, are co-developed, marketed and sold globally by Medtronic Sofamor Danek.

Bioresorbable Thin Films

Bioresorbable Thin Films are used for soft tissue support and reinforcement.

We have expanded our biomaterials platform technology in the area of bioresorbable thin film products for soft tissue support and to reinforce soft tissue where weakness exists. Our proprietary platform technology has clinical applications across multiple surgical specialties. For soft tissue support in musculoskeletal surgery, MacroPore's thin film product is Hydrosorb" Shield, which is sold globally by Medtronic Sofamor Danek.
