Medtronic Distribution and Product Development Partnership
In January 2000, MacroPore and Medtronic, Inc., formed two pivotal strategic global partnerships: (1) Craniomaxillofacial/Neurosurgical (CMF/Neuro) products would be exclusively distributed by Medtronic Neurologic Technologies whereas, (2) MacroPore and Medtronic Sofamor Danek entered into a co-development agreement regarding bioresorbable products for the spinal market segment, as well as certain orthopedic applications.
- September 2002 Medtronic Neurologic Technologies acquired Craniomaxillofacial/Neurosurgical (CMF/Neuro) product line valued at up to $21 million.
- October 2002 agreement with Medtronic Sofamor Danek extended to the year 2012, for the co-development, marketing and global distribution of spinal/reconstructive implants.
