MacroPore OS" Reconstruction System

Indications

MacroPore Biosurgery OS" Reconstruction System is indicated for graft containment and the support of weak bony tissue when used in conjunction with rigid fixation in general orthopedic applications.

Product Overview

MacroPore OS" Reconstruction System product line is designed around several configurations of the macroporous resorbable mesh, fixation tacks and screws, and complementary instrumentation.

Suitable for a broad range of applications the bioresorbable reconstructive mesh is offered in a variety of dimensions and configurations - thickness and outside dimensions impact handling characteristics. Reconstructive mesh may be used with either screws or tacks.

  • Three thickness options are available: 0.50 mm, 0.75 mm and 1.0 mm.
Macropore OS(tm) Reconstruction System includes bioresorbable implants and instrumentation.
1. Both sheet and template are immersed in the PowerBath heating unit.

2. The interchangeable cutting attachment may be used for trimming or shaping the reconstructive mesh.

3. PowerPen® Cutting/Shaping Tool is provided in sterile packaging.

4. The tacks are packaged in easy-to-use storage cases.

Bioresorbable screws and tacks are interchangeable with any of the reconstructive mesh configurations. The "countersink" configuration allows the screws to nest more deeply within the mesh, lowering the profile of the screw head, while a "recess" allows for nesting of the tack heads.

The resorbable screws and tacks are available in several diameters and lengths including:

  • Screws in 2.4 mm and 2.7 mm diameter. Screw lengths range from 8 mm through 14 mm in 2 mm increments.
  • Tacks in 2.0 mm diameter and 6 mm length.
MacroPore Biosurgery Reconstruction Implant Advantages

  • Retains approximately 100% of its initial strength for 3 months, over 90% at 6 months, and approximately 30% at 12 months.
  • May be heat contoured multiple times without loss of mechanical properties or shape memory.
  • Resorbs in approximately 18-36 months.
